The Mirage is a hotel and casino resort situated on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is a world renowned hotel and casino resort owned by MGM Resorts International that opened on the 22nd of November 1989.
The Mirage hotel provides 3 044 hotel rooms, a casino and various entertainment attractions. The hotel and casino was developed by Steve Wynn and was one of the first mega hotel and casino resorts to be built and the most expensive as features like actual gold dust tinting the windows were used.
The original marquee sign that was in front of the building was considered to be the largest free standing marquee worldwide. To the north of the property lies Treasure Island Hotel and Casino which is accessible via a free tram service.

The Polynesian theme of the establishment is enhance by its signature attraction being the erupting volcano. The volcano erupts every evening and features sounds of real erupting volcanoes and a Pina colada fragrance which was added to mask the unpleasant smell of non-combusted gas.
Other notable attractions at The Mirage include Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat; an atrium situated at the hotel entrance which features various palm trees and rainforest flora and the registration desk is back by a massive 53 ft. long aquarium which is home to over 800 specimens.

Live Entertainment and Nightlife Venues
A Cirque du Soleil production called Love is showcased at the resort as well as other live entertainment acts.
The Mirage features 10AK which is a 16 000 sq. ft. nightclub that has a New York based theme. Regular events are held here. Revolution Ultra Lounge is a 4 000 sq. ft. lounge venue that can hold up to 400 people. The theme of this venue is based on the Beatles.
Bare is a poolside lounge that allows guests to go topless. This venue has an age restriction of over 21 years of age and welcomes both men and women.
The Mirage Casino Games and Features
The Mirage casino is 100 000 sq. ft. of casino floor space and home to a poker room which has been named the best poker room in Las Vegas by Las Vegas Weekly. Open daily, the poker room hosts a variety of poker games including limit hold ‘em; no limit hold ‘em; Omaha stud and seven card stud amongst others.
A wide variety of table games are available at the casino. These include blackjack; baccarat; craps; Pai Gow poker; roulette; let it ride poker; three card poker and more. The range of slot machines found on the casino floor include penny slots and high limit slot games.
Twenty four hours of sports and race betting is available at the sports and race book. Five interactive tables are available viewing all sporting events and individual terminals for horse races with six big screen televisions showcasing the races can be used on an account based basis.
